Profile
Christopher Lee is a Partner at Morley Chow Seto (MCS). Admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in January 2016, he handles criminal defence and regulatory work at every level of the Hong Kong courts. His litigation experience spans a wide spectrum of matters, ranging from careless driving to homicide, and includes advising on cases from the initial pre-investigation stage through to their conclusion.
Christopher manages complex trials and appeals across the Magistrates' Courts, District Court, Court of First Instance, Court of Appeal, and the Court of Final Appeal. His casework encompasses both traditional and white-collar crime, including commercial fraud, sexual offences, and drug-related matters. He regularly advises on cases involving major law enforcement agencies, including Customs and Excise, the ICAC, the Hong Kong Police Force, and the Immigration Department. Crucially, he is highly experienced in guiding clients through the complexities of the criminal justice system to achieve the best possible outcomes, whether through strategic mitigation, plea negotiations, securing the withdrawal of charges, obtaining bind-over orders, or taking the matter to trial.
Drawing on his broader legal background, Christopher brings a commercially aware perspective to his current criminal practice. He previously handled civil litigation, corporate finance, and commercial litigation matters in private practice at reputable law firms. His civil experience includes managing fraud recovery actions in the District and High Courts, working with clients and witnesses from foreign jurisdictions, and handling defended employee compensation and personal injury actions, alongside insolvency proceedings.
Additionally, Christopher has practical corporate and commercial exposure. He previously served in an in-house legal role for a large multinational technology company, where he managed contract reviews and negotiations for goods and services across Hong Kong and Macau, and advised business units on competition law, employment issues, and intellectual property matters. Earlier in his career, he also assisted the in-house legal and business management teams of a major bank as they navigated the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis. This direct exposure to corporate environments has equipped him with a practical understanding of commercial realities and the day-to-day needs of corporate clients.
In the regulatory sphere, Christopher routinely acts in industrial summonses and departmental prosecutions, managing cases involving the Labour Department, Buildings Department, and Environmental Protection Department. He is fully bilingual, possessing native proficiency in English and Cantonese, alongside working proficiency in Mandarin.
Christopher is listed as a recommended criminal lawyer in Doyles Guide 2026.
