Christopher Morley, was invited to speak at the 2017 Criminal Law Conference co-hosted by the Department of Justice, the Law Society of Hong Kong and the Bar Association of Hong Kong.
Speaking on vulnerable witnesses, Christopher spoke on legislative changes in England and Wales as well as developments on the approach to children’s evidence by the courts. On a panel with Mr. William Tam S.C. and Mr. Lawrence Hui of the Bar and moderated by the Honourable Mr. Justice Young of the Supreme Court of New Zealand an interesting discussion arose on whether there was a need for legislative change in Hong Kong to allow vulnerable witnesses to achieve the best evidence. The Conference was attended by members of the Judiciary, the Hong Kong Bar, the Department of Justice and the Law Society, as well as academics from the law schools of universities in Hong Kong.
