Breach of Quarantine

In March 2020 the Hong Kong Government imposed strict quarantine laws designed to stop the spread of COVID-19. Since then there have been a number of prosecutions brought by the Department of Health and the Police for breach of the quarantine measures e.g. leaving the place of quarantine without reasonable excuse or the permission of an authorized officer. Morley Chow Seto has defended a large number of these prosecutions and can advise and assist persons summonsed or charged under Chapter 599, laws of Hong Kong. That assistance may involve negotiations with the Department of Justice, the Police and/or the Department of Health to try to resolve matters without the need for imprisonment.
